Pegmatites are wonderful crystals to own because they often contain rare earth minerals and gemstones. The name Pegmatite originates from Homeric Greek (pegnymi), it means to bind together. Looking into these crystals you can see the intertwined crystals of quartz and other crystals. Pegmatites are igneous rocks that are formed through the last stage of a magma's crystallization. They contain extraordinarily large crystals, occasionally also containing minerals that are hardly ever found in other rocks.
